As far as I know, this the second time I watch Denzel Washington cast in movie that relation to the train. Previously he had played in The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009) with John Travolta that tells about a group of man that hijack the subway.

Here are some facts related to “Unstoppable” (2010) as quoteed from IMDB :

- Based on a real runaway train incident. On May 15, 2001, a 47-car CSX locomotive left a Toledo, Ohio rail yard without an engineer and wasn’t stopped until it had run 66 miles through three counties. No one was injured in the incident.

- Ironically, a train used during filming accidentally derailed in Bridgeport, Ohio on November 21, 2009. No one was injured in the incident, and production was halted for the remainder of the day.

- Twentieth Century Fox executives asked Denzel Washington to shave $4 million from his standard fee of $20 million. (They also asked director Tony Scott to cut $3 million from his usual $9 million fee.) Citing frustration with the lack of a start date, Washington withdrew from the film. Fox then came up with an as yet undisclosed enticement package, purportedly including a revised script, to bring Washington back on board two weeks later.

Synopsis :

An unman high-speed train toward to populated area with no air brakes. If you can tell, what are you gonna do to stop it? But wait, it carrying 8 cargos that contaning some chemical toxic thing right behind it. An the worst part is, that train coming straight to another train that carrying a group of children school. Wait until the gas run out? I don’t thing so.

Denzel Washington (cast as Frank) and Chris Pine (cast as Will) work as machinist at local train station. That 8 cargos belong to the Company that don’t want anything bad happen to their loads. So, they call the police, etc they try shoot the railway, hit the train with some trailer, hoping that the train will slow down. As you watch on trailer, this movie based on true event. Can’t wait to see this movie. J
