Terrence Howard replacement as Lt. Col. James Rhodes, Don Cheadle in Iron Man 2 saying that Marvel has hired a screenwriter to work on a solo film project, ‘War Machine’.

As quoted from joblo, “They’re developing it now, they’re working on that. I think they’ve hired a writer, so We’ll see how it goes. It would be a lot of fun.” Cheadle said.

Talk About War Machine in ‘The Avengers’ (2012) later, Don Cheadle said “I do not think he shows up in that,” in response to the possibility of an Avengers cameo. “I think he’s kind of a lone wolf.”

Lt. Col. James Rhodes is a close friend of Tony Stark / Iron Man. He is a fighter pilot who had helped free a detained rebel Tony Stark Middle East before the owner of Stark Industries, the company became a super hero. Since then, Tony recruited James as a private pilot and chief engineer at Stark International airlines.
